Hoodoba Pure, the most popular of Hoodoba’s three Hoodia products, is made with 100% pure Hoodia gordonii found naturally in the wild within the Southern regions of Africa. This succulent plant has been consumed by the native San tribe of the region for thousands of years to suppress the appetite while quenching thirst. With no side-effects and drastic weight loss results, Hoodia may be the safest appetite suppressant available. Hoodia is considered to be so safe, in fact, that the South African government classifies it as a food, not a drug.
"It wasn't for lack of trying, but all my life I was known as the 'Fat Boy'. Truth is, I tried just about every diet pill, including those prescribed by my doctor without losing any real weight. So naturally, when I heard about this new all-natural ‘miracle’ pill that has no side effects I almost passed on it. Thank goodness I didn't because look at me now! I lost over 60 lbs using the Hoodoba
Order Hoodia gordonii pills."
While Hoodoba initially only sold Hoodia in the form of pure Hoodia diet pills, it has since expanded its product line to include both a liquid Hoodia extract and a fortified Hoodia fat burner. Both of these products contain the same potent Hoodia gordonii that made the Hoodoba brand a household name.
Following Hoodoba’s enormous success and media attention, many charlatans began selling weak, diluted and even entirely counterfeit "Hoodia" diet pills both in stores and online. As Hoodoba holds an exclusive 20 year contract with the largest Hoodia supplier in South Africa, other companies are unable to obtain the real thing forcing them to sell alternative ingredients as "Hoodia".
This emergence of ineffective and potentially dangerous products nearly destroyed Hoodia’s good reputation. Consumers began buying "Hoodia" that was only capsulized rice powder and were in turn not seeing results. Despite the tainting of Hoodia’s name, Hoodoba was able to emerge ahead of competitors by having their Hoodia products tested for purity by third party testing lab Alkemist Pharmaceuticals.
In order to kick off their tenth year as the foremost Hoodia seller, Hoodoba is offering a special anniversary discount of 10% off every order.
Editor's Notes: Hoodoba is the leading provider of Hoodia gordonii products that suppress the appetite and promote weight loss. Hoodoba was launched in 2002 and is the first company to introduce pure Hoodia into the United States.
Appetite Suppression
There is no published scientific evidence that hoodia works as an appetite suppressant in humans. Animal research on hoodia includes one published scientific study in which a purified extract of
Hoodia gordonii was injected directly into the brains of rats. The author of the rat study said that was easily broken down by the liver, so it might be hard to take in enough of it to ensure that it had an effect. MacLean cautioned that currently available supplements might be inadequate, stating "I question whether there is really enough of the active ingredient in there to do much."However, upon further review and in vitro experimentation it was found that
was generally not inhibited metabolically by human liver enzymes and has a relatively high secretion rate.
Given standardization techniques and the likely passage of the active ingredient into the blood stream and relatively stable metabolism by the liver, one can estimate the oral dosage required to achieve the amount of active ingredient which will likely to be passed to the brain where it is thought the ATP availability in the hypothalamus regulates appetite.
Other medical weight loss experts remain skeptical. Adrienne Youdim, MD, medical director of the Comprehensive Weight Loss Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Michael Steelman, MD, chairman of the board of trustees for the American Society of Bariatric Physicians says "There is no data to support its use." In addition, the FTC recommends against the use of such diet products marketed with exaggerated claims.
The most important thing to look for when you buy hoodia is to make sure any brand you are considering has been tested by an independent lab for authenticity. Just because a label claims it contains authentic hoodia gordonii it doesn’t mean anything!
Generic Hoodia supplements are unregulated so it’s buyer beware. The only way to know for sure if a brand is authentic is by thorough independent lab testing.
Alkemists Pharmaceuticals, an independent quality control and natural ingredient testing laboratory, announced this week the results of their third quarter random testing of diet supplements that contain hoodia gordonii. Every quarter, “secret shoppers” purchase diet supplements from randomly selected retail locations throughout the United States as part of Alkemists’ Random Analysis Program.
By obtaining the products this way-as opposed to having the companies send in bottles of their products-there is no chance of the tests being skewed by the companies selling the supplements. They don’t know when or where their products are being purchased and tested. To make sure their products “pass the test” these companies must consistently produce a high quality product because they never know when they’re going to be tested.
Once the products are purchased, all the ingredients are identified and tested for purity and authenticity. For these tests, hoodia gordonii was inspected. The results are in and seven brands of hoodia supplements were found to have no adulteration or contamination. In plain English, they passed the tests with flying colors and were found to contain authentic hoodia gordonii!
Two of the brands that passed the tests were Hoodoba and Desert Burn. These same two brands passed the test during the second quarter testing of this random analysis program. The other brands that passed the tests were Hoodia Products, HoodiThin, HoodiTrim, HoodiSpray, and Certified Hoodia made by Natural Health Hoodia. While all of these brands were found to be authentic, I still recommend Desert Burn hoodia over the rest because it is one of only two brands on the list that contain 750mg of hoodia gordonii powder per capsule.
